As we stand at the very end of perhaps the most tragic year for our nation, we also stand at the very beginning of an opportunity to restore, regain and rebuild.
At the very end of the year in which we lost thousands of lives as well as the very same historic lands that thousands before made the ultimate sacrifice to liberate;
At the very end of a year in which not only our rich culture, history, heritage and values became subject to degradation in Armenia, but also the tenets of democracy, justice and fundamental freedoms;
We stand at the very end of this year with our heads bowed in honor of every son and daughter, husband and wife, mother and father who gave their everything to defend our homeland.
The nation that, in 1918, on the heels of genocide, again amidst a pandemic, and against all odds crowned the glorious victories that secured our first independence; such a nation has no other path forward but to restore, regain and rebuild.
We must regain and rebuild our strength, our capabilities, and our homeland. We can only regain and rebuild through a strong and advanced army, an innovative and robust economy and an engaged, proactive and patriotic citizenry.
We must restore faith and trust in our leaders, our people and ourselves. We can only restore and thrive through sincerity, honesty, truthfulness, fairness, justice and democracy; while always honoring our heritage, culture and history.
May 2021 be the year of building the homeland of our dreams, for the glory of our martyred heroes, for the sake of our future.
May 2021 be the year of united action and work to this new page in our path.
